A 9-year-old boy who lives with his sister and grandfather in an Upland apartment has been missing since leaving his home for a short bicycle trip. “It’s unknown whether foul play is involved but it’s starting to point that way,” Upland Police Capt. Martin Thouvenell said. “This is a child who has never done this before.” Jason Matthew Lea was last seen at 881 Orchid Court after receiving permission from his grandfather to ride his bike for 30 minutes, police said. The bicycle was found in front of a video arcade on West Foothill Boulevard in the San Bernardino County city. Several witnesses reported seeing the boy at the arcade, where the youngster occasionally went with friends. The grandfather was given custody of the children after their father died, police said. Jason was described as having brown hair and eyes, about 4-foot-5 and weighing 60 pounds. He was wearing a yellow or white T-shirt, two-tone green shorts and high-top tennis shoes.
