THE SIDELINES : Kruger Will Stay at Kansas State

Lon Kruger, who has been mentioned as a candidate for several major college basketball coaching jobs, signed a multiyear contract today to remain at Kansas State.

Kruger, who has compiled a 64-31 record in three years at Kansas, signed a five-year roll-over contract that automatically renews at the end of each year. His base salary--not including radio-TV shows, camps, speaking engagements and other outside interests--is $82,000, a 7% increase over last year.
