The part owner of a film production company was shot to death on a residential street in Northridge, the Los Angeles Police Department reported Wednesday.

Theodore Joseph Snyder, 47, of Woodland Hills was found shot several times in the upper body about 11 p.m. Tuesday near a curb at the intersection of Wilbur Avenue and Blackhawk Street, Lt. Ron Lewis said. There were no suspects and no known motive for the slaying, he said.

Snyder was a part owner of VCR Inc., a company based in Canoga Park. Lewis said police received reports Wednesday that the company was involved in the adult film business, but those reports had not been confirmed. A person who answered a telephone call at VCR Inc. declined to discuss Snyder or the business.

Police said it was unclear why Snyder was in the Northridge neighborhood. At least six shots were fired and Snyder’s body was found by someone who was walking in the area, police said.
