A Sacramento federal judge with experience handling antitrust and labor disputes is a contender to succeed Pete Rozelle as National Football League commissioner, the Sacramento Bee reported.
U.S. District Judge Raul A. Ramirez has been in frequent contact with representatives of several West Coast NFL teams during the last few weeks, according to the Bee’s anonymous sources.
Ramirez declined comment.
