Bradley’s Fight for Political Survival
The Los Angeles City Council should immediately demand a disclosure of the procedures followed by the city attorney in the investigation by his office of the Bradley-Far East National Bank dealings.
The initial question is why didn’t the city attorney’s office (1) inspect all relevant documents as to the Far East National Bank transactions with the city at the beginning of the investigation back in March; (2) take steps to prevent alteration, destruction, or cover-up, and (3) obtain any necessary council directives or subpoenas to this end.
It would appear inconceivable that a competent attorney would not examine the treasurer’s bid sheets and all related documents at the very outset of the purported investigation.
