An additional six candidates for elective offices in Ventura County met Wednesday’s extended deadline by filing nominating petitions for Nov. 7 elections.

The original filing deadline was Aug. 11. But because no incumbents were seeking reelection for positions in some governing bodies, the deadline was extended until Wednesday to allow other candidates to file.

Joel R. Bryan joined two other candidates for one seat in Area 2 of the Ventura County Community College District. Bryan, of Thousand Oaks, is an attorney.
