Three more bank robberies occurred in San Diego Wednesday, bringing to eight the number of banks and savings and loans hit in the last three days, said a police spokesman.

As in Monday’s four robberies, all three robbers Wednesday used demand notes to extract cash from a teller.

At 11 a.m., a man robbed a branch of the Security Pacific Bank in the 3000 block of Clairemont Drive, escaping on foot with $1,140, said spokesman Bill Robinson.

A second robber hit the Great American Bank branch in the 8500 block of Navajo Road at about 2 p.m. and made off with an undetermined amount of cash, according to Robinson.

Another man robbed the Bank of Commerce office at the corner of 8th Avenue and C Street at 3:10 p.m., escaping with $600 to $700. He had a gun tucked inside his waistband, Robinson said.
