St. Genevieve 9, Murphy 7--The Valiants scored all their points in the second half and limited Murphy to 15 total yards at St. Bernard High to give Coach Mark Lovett a victory in his first game.

Trailing, 7-0, at halftime, St. Genevieve tied the score early in the third quarter when running back Noel Molina scored from the 13. St. Genevieve linebackers Ernie Schneider and Mike Hoffman tackled Murphy running back Jesus Williams in the end zone for a safety with 10:45 to play to gain the victory.

St. Genevieve quarterback Dominic Mueller completed nine of 12 passes for 60 yards.
