Wells Leads Way as Valencia Rings Bellflower, 35-6
Valencia spotted Bellflower a 6-0 lead, then scored 35 points in routing the Buccaneers, 35-6, in a nonleague game on Friday.
Valencia took control with a 21-point second quarter.
Leading the way was quarterback Richard Wells, who completed 12 of 17 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns, and running back Ryan Roskelly, who scored twice.
Wells, who had 128 yards passing by halftime, set up the first two Valencia touchdowns, Roskelly’s 3-yard run and John Fewell’s 1-yard run.
He connected with Roskelly on a 27-yard pass that set up the first score, and his 31-yarder to David Sanchez, who was tackled at the Bellflower 7, set up Fewell’s touchdown.
Bellflower opened the scoring on John Hanna’s 1-yard run with 7:15 left in the quarter.
