Chris Romey headed in Scott Rommel’s corner kick with 1:14 to play Wednesday as UC San Diego, the NCAA Division III defending champion, defeated Cal Lutheran, 1-0, in a nonconference soccer match at Cal Lutheran.

Cal Lutheran goalkeeper Dave Salzwedel posted 19 saves.

In another nonconference match:

CS San Bernardino 6, Occidental 0--Lewis Tierney had five saves for Occidental (0-3).

UC San Diego d. The Master’s, 15-3, 15-10, 10-15, 15-6--Teresa Stanley had 13 kills at Master’s.

Pierce d. Long Beach, 15-6, 10-15, 15-5, 15-5--Anna Suarez had 15 kills to lead Pierce (1-0).
