The house, at 1105 Orange Ave., was destroyed, Marcello said. Damage was estimated at $50,000.

Fire destroyed about 10% of the Westside Market, 327 11th St. Damage was estimated at $55,000. Damage to nearby structures was estimated at $25,000.

About 35 firefighters managed to control the blaze after an hour and 10 minutes, Marcello said. Power was shut off in the immediate area because of downed electrical lines. The residents were allowed to return to their homes after the fire was extinguished.

The cause and source of the fire are being investigated.
