P.M. BRIEFING : Bucks Sign Coach Through 1992-93
The Bucks said today that Coach Del Harris, whose contract was to have expired at the end of the 1989-90 season, has been signed to a contract through the 1992-93 season.
The National Basketball Assn. team also said that Harris will assume the title of vice president of basketball operations in addition to being head coach.
“Del has done an outstanding job, and we wish to recognize that achievement by securing his services for the future,” Bucks President Herb Kohl said. “His teams the past two seasons have been aggressive, well-prepared and exciting. We look forward to the 1989-90 season and beyond with optimism.”
The Bucks have compiled a 91-73 record in two seasons under Harris, who previously was coach at Houston from 1979 to 1983. Milwaukee was 49-33 last season.
