Live country-Western music, a carnival and square dancing will be just a part of the entertainment at the four-day San Dimas annual Western Days celebration.
The carnival, complete with amusement rides and fairway games, begins today and runs through Sunday. It will be on Bonita Avenue, between City Hall Annex and the Vons Shopping Center.
On Friday, a Western dance will be hosted by the Festival Country Dancers accompanied by the Union Pacific Band. Free dance lessons begin at 6:30 p.m. at the San Dimas Civic Center Community Building, 245 E. Bonita Ave. The hoedown is from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Admission is $6 per person.
The children’s parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and is immediately followed by the Western Days parade with Grand Marshal Tex Shoemaker. The parade will start on Gladstone, move down San Dimas Avenue, circle City Hall and end on 2nd Street.
Advance tickets for the carnival, dance and “Puddingstone Falls Casino Night” are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce, 246 E. Bonita Ave.
