Dave Hill, a Police Department spokesman, said Fred Miller of Orange was walking eastbound across Hardy Street when he was struck by a white 1986 Toyota Celica.
Miller, who suffered head and internal injuries, was rushed to United Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he was pronounced dead about 3 p.m.
