Three youths who had been at a white supremacist party were shot by an unknown assailant after a fight with three minority men at a Van Nuys supermarket, authorities said Sunday.

The victims, ages 17, 18 and 21, were attending a party hosted by white supremacist “skinheads” Saturday night at a home near a supermarket in the 6800 block of Lennox Street.

They went to the market where, about 11:45 p.m., they began fighting with a black man and two Latino men, Los Angeles police said. As the youths were being chased away, they were shot.

Police said they do not know whether the gunman was one of the three who fought with the skinheads or whether the shooter was a bystander at the supermarket. No arrests were made.

Two of the victims were found in a park across the street from the supermarket and the third was at a nearby home. The 18-year-old and the 21-year-old were taken to Valley Hospital Medical Center in Van Nuys, where they remained Sunday. The third victim was treated and released, hospital officials said.

Authorities refused to elaborate further on the incident or to release the victims’ names and their conditions.
