A Missouri Southern football player died and three others were injured Sunday morning when a car in which they were riding slammed into a parked semi-trailer as they were returning from the Colorado-Oklahoma game, officials in Tulsa, Okla., said.

Blake Allan Riley, a freshman defensive back from Edmond, Okla., was pronounced dead at the scene of massive head injuries. Starting quarterback Alan Brown, was in critical condition; backup linebacker Jim Mazzocchi was upgraded from critical to fair condition, and starting offensive tackle David Gossett was in serious condition.

Police said the driver, Mazzocchi, apparently fell asleep and struck the semi-trailer.
