P. M. Briefing : Surgery Sidelines WSU’s Wulff
Washington State starting center Paul Wulff will miss the final two football games of the season after undergoing emergency surgery early this morning, athletic officials said. Wulff, a 6-foot-4, 274-pound senior who started all nine of the Cougars’ games this season, underwent an appendectomy shortly after his 1 a.m. admission to Pullman Memorial Hospital. He was listed in stable condition this morning and is expected to remain in the hospital two to three days, athletic officials said.
Wulff, from Davis, Calif., will miss the final two regular-season games against California and Washington but could be available if the Cougars are invited to a post-season bowl game, Coach Mike Price said.
