THE BOTTOM LINE
The Cincinnati Reds have signed free-agent catcher Donnie Scott to a contract assigning him to Cincinnati’s Nashville farm team and have invited him to the Reds’ 1990 spring training camp. Scott, 28, a switch hitter, will attend spring training as a non-roster player, a Reds spokesman said. In 1989, Scott batted .255 with three home runs and 31 runs batted in during 111 games for Denver, the Milwaukee Brewers’ Class AAA affiliate. He played in the American League for Texas in 1983 and 1984 and Seattle in 1985.
