NBA rookies will be given random drug tests three times during the regular season, Commissioner David Stern and Players Assn. executive director Charles Grantham announced.
Previously, under an agreement between the NBA and the union, rookies were subject to testing only during training camp. Under the new terms, an amendment to the Anti-Drug Agreement, they will be tested a total of four times.
