A fire caused $550,000 in damage to an Agoura Hills house and slightly injured two firefighters Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.

One of the injured firefighters was treated at Westlake Community Hospital for smoke inhalation, and the other complained of back pain after falling through the roof of the house, Capt. Dick Baker said. The second firefighter was not hospitalized.

The fire in the 5500 block of Colodny Drive started about 12:05 p.m. and was extinguished about 20 minutes later, he said.

Although the house was destroyed, the occupants were not injured because they were out voting when the fire started, Baker said.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation by fire officials and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arson inspectors, he said.
