Store Employees Foil Robbery; Man Arrested

A man carrying two knives was arrested late Monday night when employees disarmed him and foiled his attempt to rob a paint store, Glendale police said.

The unidentified man tried to rob the Standard Brands paint store in the 600 block of East Broadway, but store employees took the knives and kept him in custody until police arrived, Sgt. James Fitzgerald said.

During the scuffle, the suspect suffered head cuts, Fitzgerald said. He was taken to Los Angeles County Medical Center, where he remains in custody, Fitzgerald said.
