Watching Out for a Timely Source

Betty Bonge of Laguna Beach is looking for somebody who can repair a Pulsar L.E.D. watch and a Fairchild L.E.D. digital watch. Can you watch out for a source or two, or will Bonge wonder if anybody will ever again give her the time of day?

Mary Greenburg of San Bernardino would like to find an organization or club whose members are interested in breeding and raising fancy pet rats. Can you help Greenburg out of a hole, or will she be sure that somebody out there is smelling a rat in her tale?

James Rourke of Orange wants to know where he can get a man’s silk coat dyed ; none of the dry cleaners he contacted were willing to undertake the task. Can you come up with a tailor-made source for Rourke, or might he as well wonder why he’s dying to come so clean?

Bonnie Hood of Canyon Country needs some white plastic roll-up kitchen shades or curtains in these unusual sizes: 96” wide and 44” long, 65” wide and 44” long, and 35” wide and 75” long. Can you help brighten up Hood’s kitchen, or will she be convinced it’s curtains for her decorating schemes?

Please see to it that something good is in the cards for Dee. . . . Ethel Mae at (707) 448-2811 would like an Indian Tepee cookie jar made several years ago by a company no longer in business; it sold for about $5. How about making sure that Ethel Mae knows which Kiowa the cookie crumbles. . . . Patricia at (213) 271-1963 wants to get hold of some Unique Plus skin oil sold years ago in beauty supply and barber shops; please see to it that Patricia’s beauty problems are only skin-deep. . . . For her daughter who’s about to become a mother, Toye at (818) 715-2604 would like to find a Christmas song called “Santa Mouse,” which was on a 45 rpm record about 25 years ago. Yule make this a merry Christmas for Toye if you can manage to santa copy her way.

We finally have a local source for grilled razor clams. McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, 2000 Main St., Irvine, (714) 756-0505, says they often get razor clams in, especially at this time of year; anyone interested should call them to be notified when the next shipment hits the docks.

Virginia Ludwig of Tustin, who wanted a broom brace, need no longer be floored. Bee Kirby of Arcadia says that the product, called a Mop Organizer, can be bought at FEDCO for $3.97 or at any store that sells Rubbermaid products. And Rafaelitra Eldred of Carpinteria and Ruth Iverson of Palm Desert both say the (free) Fuller Brush catalogue lists a broom brace; call toll-free (800) 522-0024.

For Vera Van Iwaarden of Vista, who wanted a Jacob’s Ladder (Click Clack) game, we have a number of mail-order sources and some in the Los Angeles area. Victoria Schorr, M.
