HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL : Blackwell Scores 5 Touchdowns as Hart Romps to 41-8 Victory

Senior running back Howard Blackwell scored touchdowns on runs of 26, 12, and six yards and on receptions of 62 and 10 yards to lead Hart High over San Gabriel, 41-8, in a Foothill League game Thursday night at College of the Canyons.

Blackwell had 69 yards rushing in six carries and 134 yards on six receptions. Hart quarterback Rob Westervelt completed 16 of 30 passes for 258 yards and three touchdowns, including a 27-yard scoring pass to Lance Migita.

Hart, which had a 27-8 advantage at halftime, amassed 366 yards in total offense and limited San Gabriel to 230.

The win clinched the league title for Hart (9-1, 5-0) in the final game of the regular season.

Tight end Chad Fotheringham added 44 yards on four catches for the Indians. Allen Harvey gained 77 yards in 11 carries for San Gabriel (3-7, 2-3).
