About 3,150 gallons of raw sewage spilled into the ocean Monday morning off Ocean Beach, according to the county Health Department.
The spill began at 7 a.m. when a grease-blocked sewer main caused a manhole to overflow at Cornish Drive and Ladera Street. City utility crews contained the spill at 8:30 a.m.
Warning signs were posted where sewage entered the ocean and 100 yards on each side of the spill.
