A North Hollywood gang member was in critical condition Tuesday after being wounded in a drive-by shooting, Los Angeles police said.

Baldoman Hernandez, 18, was walking with four other young men at 9 p.m. Monday in the 7200 block of Vineland Avenue when a dark car sped by and shots were fired from its window, Sgt. George McCormick said. Only Hernandez was wounded. The car, which had at least two people in it, sped away and no arrests were made.

Hernandez was being treated at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills. Police said Hernandez and the four young men he was with are known by detectives to be members of a North Hollywood gang.
