Blaze Burns 50 Acres South of Simi Valley
A fire burned 50 acres of heavy brush south of Simi Valley on Wednesday, but no structures were threatened or damaged, the Ventura County Fire Department reported.
The blaze started about 3:15 p.m. near Stearns Street and Los Angeles Avenue, said Gina Vasquez, Fire Department spokeswoman. It was under control by 5:15 p.m. About 30 firefighters, assisted by two water-dropping helicopters, battled the fire.
