Yonder, bouncing back from his loss in the Young America last month, won the $242,800 Remsen for 2-year-olds by three-quarters of a length over Roanoke at Aqueduct in New York.

In the $182,400 co-featured Demoiselle Stakes for 2-year-old fillies, Rootentootenwooten won in a driving finish, upsetting the favored Bookkeeper.

Roanoke, ridden by Jose Santos and carrying 122 pounds, had a clear lead entering the stretch but could not hold off the charge of Yonder, ridden by Eddie Maple.
