Rancho Bernardo
An armed man stole $3,000 from a Miller’s Outpost clothing store in Rancho Bernardo Monday morning and escaped after handcuffing three employees together and tying up two others, police said.
About 6:50 a.m., the man, armed with a blue steel handgun, approached two female employees and a truck driver standing near the loading dock of the Miller’s Outpost at 11965 Bernardo Plaza Drive and forced them inside the store, San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said. Once inside the store, the gunman put on gloves, ordered the women to open the safe, then handcuffed them and the truck driver together with two pairs of handcuffs, Robinson said.
During the robbery, two other female employees entered the store, were tied up with duct tape and locked in the bathroom, Robinson said.
