Valencia Youth Dies in Crash at High School
An 18-year-old youth died of head injuries Wednesday after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a brick column at the entrance to William Hart High School in Newhall, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Scott Timothy Anthony of Valencia, a senior at the school, was pronounced dead at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital shortly after the 12:50 p.m. accident, Sgt. Greg Cisneros said.
Anthony was riding his motorcycle on the sidewalk outside the school in the 24800 block of Newhall Avenue, crossed the driveway and lost control, Cisneros said. The motorcycle slid along the curb on the other side of the driveway and struck a brick column, throwing Anthony to the pavement, Cisneros said.
