Car Kills 3-Year-Old Who Ran Into Street
A 3-year-old boy was struck and killed by a car Thursday when he ran from his aunt’s side into a street in Van Nuys, Los Angeles police said.
Marco Morales of Van Nuys was pronounced dead at Valley Hospital Medical Center after the 10:45 a.m. accident at Victory Boulevard and Vesper Street, Officer Jon Herrington said.
Morales was in a crosswalk but ran against a red light, Herrington said. He was struck by a car driven eastbound on Victory by Rigoberto Escobar, 19, of North Hollywood, who was not cited, Herrington said.
The aunt was walking with the boy and had stopped at the curb to cross the street when the light turned green, he said.
