Writing Well: Actor-producer Robert Guillame, star of “Benson,” announced Monday that he will sponsor a writing competition for minority students. The Robert Guillame Writing Competition is limited to students at 150 selected black colleges and universities around the country and is intended to encourage young writers to write for television. First-prize honors will be $5,000 and a development deal with Guillame’s production company, Longridge Enterprises. Second- and third-place winners will receive $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. Guillame will also arrange for leading entertainment literary agencies to read the finalist’s scripts so that finalists can obtain representation.
