LOCAL : Body Falls From Van on Freeway
From Times Wire Services
A body fell out of a coroner’s van onto the Hollywood Freeway this morning, temporarily closing southbound lanes, the California Highway Patrol said.
The body, on a gurney, was spotted by a motorist at about 5:20 a.m. on the freeway near the downtown interchange, said CHP spokesman Monty Keifer.
The body was that of a suicide victim being transported to the morgue by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s van. By 5:40 a.m., the body was put back in the van and the freeway lanes were reopened, said Keifer.
