Injury to Sideline Giants’ Taylor
Lawrence Taylor will miss Sunday’s NFC East showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles because of a sprained right ankle, New York Giant Coach Bill Parcells said Wednesday.
Parcells met with Taylor on Wednesday morning and the perennial Pro Bowl linebacker told the coach he didn’t think he could play.
“He can’t walk,” Parcells said.
The Giants (9-3) head into the game at Giants Stadium with a one-game lead over Philadelphia. The Eagles have beaten New York three consecutive times, including a 21-19 victory this season, and another win would give Philadelphia the inside track in any playoff tiebreaker if the teams finish tied at the end of the regular season.
Taylor injured the ankle Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers.
