A fallaway bank shot by Dennis Scott, who scored 42 points, gave No. 18 Georgia Tech a 93-92 victory over No. 22 Pittsburgh Monday night at Hartford, Conn., in the opening game of the Big East-ACC Challenge.

Scott, who made eight of 14 three-point shots, took a pass near the lane with four seconds left and then drove toward the basket, pulling up for the game-winning shot.

“Dennis Scott put on a performance not like too many people are going to see too often,” Pitt Coach Paul Evans said.
