Jet Blast Shatters Window; 23 Hurt
As many as 23 diners received minor injuries from flying glass when a blast from an executive jet making a turn blew out a plate glass window at the Copacabana restaurant at Lindbergh Field late Friday night, authorities said.
“The Gulfstream (aircraft) was just making a turn to get on the runway when its blast hit,” said a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman.
San Diego Fire Department paramedics said eight persons were sent to three area hospitals and another “10 to 15” were treated at the scene. Most of the injuries involved cuts or twisted ankles.
