GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Brea-Olinda Wins 29th in a Row

Tammy Blackburn had 25 points to lead Brea-Olinda High School to a 75-37 victory over Esperanza Friday in a championship semifinal game of the Brea-Olinda girls’ basketball tournament.
Jinelle Williams had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Brea-Olinda, which improved its record to 7-0 and extended its winning streak to 29 games, tying a record set in the 1984-1985 season.
In other games at Brea-Olinda:
Santa Margarita 41, Alemany 37--Guard Kristen Mulligan scored 24 points to lead Santa Margarita (5-1) in the consolation round.
Tustin 62, Diamond Bar 42--Shari Needham had 18 points to lead Tustin (7-2) in a consolation semifinal. Wanda Sequeira had 14 points, seven assists and nine steals for Tustin.
Palmdale 57, El Toro 53--Freshman Kim Schielke had 19 points to lead Palmdale (6-1). Sara Bone had 22 points to lead El Toro (5-2).
In the Santa Ana Valley tournament:
Santa Ana 41, Bolsa Grande 31--In the consolation semifinal, Gracie Lopez had 15 points and Stephanie Larson had 12 to lead Santa Ana (4-3). Susan Mendez had 12 rebounds for Santa Ana.
In the Beverly Hills tournament:
North Torrance 71, Estancia 56--In the championship game, Laura Collins had 25 points to lead North Torrance. Melody Earle had 24 points for Estancia (3-2).
