Hialeah’s License Is Suspended

HIALEAH, Fla. —
The state of Florida suspended Hialeah Park’s pari-mutuel license Tuesday because the financially troubled track changed its racing schedule without permission.
Hialeah attorney Barry Richard said he will appeal the state’s order to the 1st District Court of Appeals in Tallahassee. If Hialeah persuades the court to reverse the order, the track can continue running its abbreviated three-day schedule until a full hearing Jan. 3 before the state.
