Nunn Injured; Fight With Starling Postponed
Michael Nunn, the International Boxing Federation middleweight champion, bruised his back Monday when he fell down a flight of stairs, forcing postponement of his bout with Marlon Starling.
Nunn was scheduled to fight Starling, the World Boxing Assn. welterweight champion, Jan. 27 at Las Vegas.
“The injury has prevented Nunn from training,” said his manager, Dan Goossen. “He is undergoing therapy. Doctors will evaluate the situation in seven to 10 days, and that will give us a pretty good idea how quickly he can get back into training.”
Nunn, who lives in Agoura, fell at his home, according to Goossen.
