Blocked Out in Boston: The unruly fans were too much for the teen-idol group New Kids on the Block on Wednesday night at Boston’s World Trade Center, forcing the kids to cancel the concert. Hundreds of screaming teen-age girls threw themselves toward the band members when they first appeared on stage, where they stayed for just a minute before deciding the crowd was out of control. There were no arrests or major injuries, although some teens fainted at the sight of the band. New Kid Donnie Wahlberg called the attention from the clamoring fans “flattering.” The New Kids were doing a benefit concert for Boston Against Drugs, to which they donated $25,000. “We don’t have to stand on the stage and preach, don’t do drugs,” Wahlberg told the crowd before going backstage.
