All-American linebacker Keith McCants said the Alabama coaching change would not affect his decision on whether to skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft.
Despite reports that the 6-foot-5, 256-pound McCants will turn professional, possibly becoming the No. 1 choice in the draft, he would not say if he will give up his final year of collegiate eligibility.
“I have not announced that I am coming out for the draft,” he said. “I’m still a junior and I’m registered at the University of Alabama for the second semester.
McCants said his eventual announcement would have “nothing to do with Coach Curry.”
