COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Pacific Christian Wins in Basketball, 119-71

Brian Kaiser had 20 points and 15 rebounds to lead Pacific Christian College to a 119-71 victory over host American Indian Bible College in a Western Christian Athletic Assn. men’s basketball game Saturday.

Tag Kelly had 20 points and eight assists and Mike Vincent 17 points and 11 rebounds for Pacific Christian (13-8 overall, 7-0 in the WCAA).

In Big West Conference women’s basketball:

Nevada Las Vegas 100, UC Irvine 34--Mandy Hannah had 16 points to lead Nevada Las Vegas (16-1, 8-0). Kathy Lizarraga had nine points for UC Irvine (1-14, 0-6). UNLV had a 44-16 halftime lead.

In Western Intercollegiate Volleyball Assn. men’s volleyball:

UC Santa Barbara 3, UC Irvine 0--The visiting Gauchos won, 16-14, 15-12, 15-2. Santa Barbara (1-0) was led by Mike Diehl, a freshman from Ocean View High School, who had 20 kills. UC Irvine (0-2) was led by Steve Florentine’s 16 kills.

In nonconference wrestling:

Ohio State 30, Cal State Fullerton 6--Heavyweight David Jones defeated Fred Miller, 13-6, and in the 158-pound class, Martin Armendarez defeated Mike Speck, 7-3, for Cal State Fullerton’s only victories against the 15th-ranked Buckeyes at Ohio State.

Indiana 32, Cal State Fullerton 9--In the Titans’ second match of the day, Jones defeated Scott Holman, 6-3; Dan Henderson defeated Casey Graham, 12-7, in the 167-pound class, and Jeff Maes defeated Lou Silverman, 6-4, in the 126-pound class for Fullerton (5-8).
