Texas El Paso Beats San Diego State, 71-63
Henry Hall scored 19 points and Antonio Davis had 16 as Texas El Paso overcame a 15-point deficit in the first half to beat San Diego State for the 10th consecutive time, 71-63, in a Western Athletic Conference game Saturday night.
The Miners (10-7, 3-3) trailed, 40-25, with 3:56 left before halftime. They cut it to 44-38 at halftime, then used an 11-4 surge in the first four minutes of the second half to take the lead for good at 49-48.
Marty Dow had 19 points to lead San Diego State (11-8, 3-3) but scored only three in the second half when the Aztecs were limited to 19 points for their lowest-scoring half of the season.
