Bomb Damages Pharmacy, Roof
A bomb blew a hole in a University City pharmacy roof early Wednesday, causing $30,000 in damage, authorities said.
No injuries were reported in the explosion, which occurred about 2 a.m. in the rear storage area of the pharmacy, in the 3300 block of Governor Drive.
“They just dropped some sort of explosive device down the air-conditioning unit,” said Wayne Woods, a pharmacy employee. “The air-conditioning unit is pretty much fractured all apart and there’s a big hole in the roof, but we didn’t lose a lot of merchandise.”
Woods said the pharmacy had not received any threats.
“A possible motive may have been burglary,” said San Diego Police Detective John Buono.
