A pizza deliveryman was shot in the stomach after making a delivery, and the assailant fled without taking anything, San Diego police said Wednesday.
Dan Phifer, 38, was taken to Mercy Hospital on Tuesday night after he was shot while returning to his car after the delivery to a residence in the 2700 block of Polk Avenue in East San Diego.
“No money was taken, not even a pizza,” a police spokesman said.
Police said they had no suspects.
