Two women in separate cars died in a head-on collision Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 15, the California Highway Patrol said.
LaVerne Stella Rhea, 64, was driving south at 4:35 p.m. on I-15, one-quarter mile south of Pala Road, when her left front tire blew out. She lost control of her car, which crossed the center divider into the northbound lanes, hitting 60-year-old Rose Fraticelli Dehaven’s car head-on.
