Woman Killed Crossing Lanes Near U.S. Border
A Mexican woman was struck by a car and killed while crossing the freeway near the U.S. border Friday night, police said.
The victim, 24-year-old Raquel Dominguez, was struck while going east across the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near San Ysidro with her brother, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesman. The woman’s brother safely made it to the freeway’s center divide, but she was hit just before reaching the divide, the spokesman said.
The driver of the car, a 27-year-old Chula Vista man, was not injured. No charges were filed.
