* Lisa Humphreys scored 18 points Wednesday to help the Palos Verdes girls basketball team extend its Bay League winning streak to 44 games in a 77-34 victory over Leuzinger. The Sea Kings (21-4 overall, 11-0 in league) have won 13 straight this season.

* Torrance guard Rick Robison scored 49 points Wednesday, including six of his team’s seven in overtime, to lead the Tartars to a 91-89 Bay League victory over Inglewood and increase his area-leading scoring average to 34.7.

* The Torrance and South Torrance girls soccer teams each posted 11-0 victories Tuesday to remain in first place in the Bay and Ocean leagues. Torrance’s Jessica Reifer, Amy Pearson, Jenny Yokoyama and November Wallace each scored two goals against Inglewood, while South’s Rachel Barmann scored five goals and Monica Emmrich added three against Culver City.

* Morningside (10-0 in the Ocean League) owns the only unbeaten league record among boys basketball teams in the South Bay.

* West Torrance’s basketball team had its losing streak extended to 12 games Wednesday in an 85-59 defeat to Morningside. The Warriors’ record fell to 2-16 overall and 0-10 in the Ocean League.

* El Camino College has dropped its last two South Coast Conference basketball games to the last-place teams in the five-member league. On Saturday, the Warriors fell 62-55 to Mt. San Antonio, at the time the SCC’s last-place team, and Wednesday they lost 110-102 in double overtime to Pasadena, which had slipped into last after Mt. SAC’s upset over El Camino.

* South Torrance’s basketball team (5-15 overall, 2-8 in the Ocean League) allowed as many points in the second half (58) Wednesday to Culver City as it scored in a 101-58 loss.

* Mira Costa scored only 13 points in the second half Wednesday in a 58-31 Ocean League basketball loss to Centennial.
