THE SIDELINES : Roy Hinson Has Knee Surgery
New Jersey Nets forward Roy Hinson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his strained right knee, team spokesman John Tudhope said.
The 1 1/2-hour surgery was performed Thursday at New York University Medical Center by team orthopedist Dr. Jeffrey Minkoff, Tudhope said.
“Hinson is resting comfortably, and doctors will not have complete results of the surgery until some recovery time has elapsed,” Tudhope said.
Hinson has averaged 15 points a game and 6.9 rebounds.
He missed the last four games with the knee problem, the second time he has been sidelined this season. He missed the season’s first 14 games after hurting the knee.
