Dogs, dogs and more dogs--more than 2,700 of them--are expected to compete for prize ribbons at Sunday’s All-Breed Show and Obedience Trials at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, 3939 S. Figueroa St. Sponsored by the Kennel Club of Beverly Hills, 139 breeds will be strutting their stuff inside and outside the arena.

The event promises something for every dog lover. There will be a booth staffed by a veterinarian, offering information on dog care, a computerized select-a-dog program that matches life style with appropriate breed, and plenty of doggie boutiques.

Families can learn about dog training in special shows at noon and 2 p.m. In the education ring, experts will tell how dogs are trained for TV and movies and what to look for when buying a dog.

“Dynamic Dobermans,” a 20-dog troupe, will climb walls, jump through fire hoops, carry eggs in spoons and perform other tricks designed to soften the image of the breed. The Doberman show is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.

Outside, at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., Laura Bridges will demonstrate herding techniques with her team of Belgian Tervurens.

Attorney Linda A. Cawley will speak on the legal issues and rights of dog ownership from a booth during show hours and at a special talk at 11:45 a.m.

Show hours are 8 a.m. to about 8:30 p.m., depending on the time judging is completed. General admission $5; seniors 60 and over and children 11 and under pay $1.50. Call (818) 789-8350.
