BIG WEST CONFERENCE ROUNDUP : Nevada Las Vegas Routs San Jose St.

Larry Johnson had 18 points and 16 rebounds in 22 minutes Monday night as ninth-ranked Nevada Las Vegas overpowered San Jose State, 105-69, in a Big West Conference game at Las Vegas.

The Rebels (17-4, 10-1 in the Big West) led by 22 points midway through the first half, then widened the margin to as many as 37 in the second half with the regulars on the bench. San Jose State (5-15, 2-9) made only 34% of its shots and lost for the sixth consecutive time.

Also in double figures for Las Vegas were David Butler and Moses Scurry, who had 17 points each, Travis Bice scored 13, Greg Anthony 11 and Anderson Hunt 10. Anthony also had nine assists.

Kevin Logan and Troy Batiste had 16 points each for San Jose State. Logan also had 15 rebounds.

UC Santa Barbara 82, Santa Clara 63--Carrick DeHart and Eric McArthur scored 22 points each and the Gauchos won their fourth game in a row in a nonconference game at Santa Clara. UC Santa Barbara improved to 15-5. Santa Clara is 7-14.
